If this is your first triathlon event, and the prospect of open water swimming is a daunting shadow hanging over your preparation, these open water swimming sessions are absolutely essential.

Run by some of the UK’s top swim coaches, the open water days are aimed at instilling confidence and supplying valuable technique and advise for both newcomers and those trying to snip those valuable seconds off their PBs.

Areas focused on will include:
  • Intro from an expert - confidence building
  • Correct wetsuit fitting plus how to put it on and take it off!
  • Start/finish procedure - starting in a group
  • Techniques for long distance swimming
  • Skill development - drafting/sighting


Tri and Run are also present at the events for all your triathlon equipment needs. The feedback we receive from these events is focused around the increased confidence competitors feel. People arrive believing the swim to be the most daunting leg of the triathlon, and leave fully reassured of their open water swimming ability.
