Transport
The event is conducted in and around ExCeL Exhibition Centre, Royal Victoria Dock, London E16 1XL,
www.excel-London.co.uk. The recommended method of transport is by car or train as the DLR will not allow bikes.


By Car

ExCeL is accessed from the A13, which is not affected by the event route.  This can be reached from central London, Blackwall and Rotherhithe Tunnels, the A406 North Circular, M25 and M11. Please check for any weekend road works that may affect these routes. ExCeL Parking is signed from both Gallions Reach roundabout and Canning Town.
There will be road closures in operation for the duration of the event in particular Sunday. Please see our website for full details.

Venue Parking

All competitors and visitors are urged to park in the ExCeL Undercroft car park if they are approaching from the west and the North Halls of ExCeL if approaching from the East.

Key Changes for 2010

  • Parking in 2010 will be available from both the east and west approach to ExCeL.
  • The west entrance to ExCeL has a 1.9m height restriction. Please navigate to the east entrance if you transport your bike on a roof rack or if you have a high or wide vehicle.
  • All competitors are urged to go to ExCeL east if parking a vehicle with a roof rack. Spectators or competitors without a roof rack can use the Undercroft car park which can be accessed from ExCeL West.
  • All parking for spectators and competitors is available at a daily rate of £15 which is payable via Pay and Display tickets which are available for purchase within the car parks.
  • There is sufficient parking at ExCeL for all spectators and competitors but please remember to arrive at least 90 minutes before your start time to avoid being late for your race.
  • Parking for competitors racking on Saturday for their race on Sunday will receive information about a free 2 hour parking pass in the week in the lead up to the event


Public Transport

BICYCLES ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE DOCKLANDS LIGHT RAILWAY
ExCeL London is connected to the Jubilee line at Canning Town via a 3 minute DLR journey. DLR has advised us that they will NOT accept any bicycles at any point over the weekend. Prince Regent is the nearest DLR station.

Essential engineering works are unavoidable so please be sure to check the Transport for London website (www.tfl.gov.uk) for any travel information before the day to avoid delays.

Nearest Train Stations are:
Stratford 3.5 miles from ExCeL. West Ham 1.8 miles from ExCeL.

We strongly advise competitors to arrive at the venue using private transport although the DLR remains open for spectator use. 

For information about travelling on public transport with a bicycle or to select a bike route, refer to Transport for London (www.tfl.gov.uk) or London Cycling Campaign (www.lcc.org.uk).

Arriving by tube & bikes on the tube
Circle, District, East London, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines
On these lines bicycles are permitted on all sections outside peak times.
Bakerloo Line
Bicycles may be taken between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone in the morning peak and vice versa in the evening peak, and in both directions outside peak times.
Central Line
Bicycles may be taken outside peak times in either direction between: White City and West Ruislip/Ealing Broadway Leyton and Epping Newbury Park/Woodford and Hainault.
Jubilee Line
Bicycles are permitted outside peak times in either direction between: Finchley Road and Stanmore Canning Town and Stratford. This year there are planned engineering workds and the Jubilee line is closed between Stanmore and Waterloo. It will be running as normal between Waterloo and Canning Town.
District Line:
The District Line links to the Silverlink train at West Ham Jubilee Line:

ExCeL is connected to the Jubilee line at Canning Town, via a 3-minute DLR journey (Docklands Light Railway) to Custom House for ExCeL (Zone 3). You can walk or cycle from Canning Town – head south along Silvertown way, and turn left to the West Entrance of ExCeL.

ExCeL is also connected directly to the Central, Northern, Circle, District and Waterloo & City lines at Bank and the Circle and District lines at Tower Hill via the DLR. Plan your journey with www.tubeplanner.com
