Arriving by car
ExCeL is easily reached from
Central London via the Limehouse Link (5 miles east of
Tower Bridge) and via the M25 (Junction 30), A13, M11,
A406 (North Circular), the Blackwall Tunnel and Rotherhithe
Tunnel.
Parking
Venue Parking
Please note due to Phase 2 construction at the ExCeL centre there is no parking in the East Car Park whatsoever. All competitors and visitors are urged to park in the Peruvian Car Park - CLICK HERE Key Changes for 2009 • No East Entrance into ExCeL (due to phase 2 construction) • No East Car Park (due to phase 2 construction) • There is a new car park called the Peruvian Car Park • Please allow 15 – 20 minutes to walk from the Peruvian Car Park • There will be a shuttle bus from there provided for spectators (you cannot takes bikes on this) • The daily rate for parking is £10 • For all Sunday competitors racking on Saturday there is free parking for 2 hours in the Peruvian Car Park only • The Jubilee Line is closed between Stanmore and Waterloo. Costs: All parking (spectator and competitor) is available at a daily rate of £10. For competitors racking on the Saturday for Sunday PM racing you will be able to park free at the Peruvian Car Park only for up to 2 hours. Please mention this to the car parking attendant on entry. The west multi-storey and the Undercroft (accessed from the West entrance) have a height restriction of 2m – please use the Peruvian Car Park if you transport your bike on a roof rack or if you have a high or wide vehicle.
Arriving by tube & bikes on the tube
Circle, District, East
London, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines
On these lines bicycles are permitted on all sections outside peak times. Bakerloo Line Bicycles may be taken between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone in the morning peak and vice versa in the evening peak, and in both directions outside peak times. Central Line Bicycles may be taken outside peak times in either direction between: White City and West Ruislip/Ealing Broadway Leyton and Epping Newbury Park/Woodford and Hainault. Jubilee Line Bicycles are permitted outside peak times in either direction between: Finchley Road and Stanmore Canning Town and Stratford. This year there are planned engineering workds and the Jubilee line is closed between Stanmore and Waterloo. It will be running as normal between Waterloo and Canning Town. District Line: The District Line links to the Silverlink train at West Ham Jubilee Line: This travel advice is only a guide - we highly recommend that you contact TFL to confirm these details and also to check any engineering works that may be occuring on the weekend of the 1st and 2nd August - http://www.tfl.gov.uk. ExCeL is connected to the Jubilee line at Canning Town, via a 3-minute DLR journey (Docklands Light Railway) to Custom House for ExCeL (Zone 3). You can walk or cycle from Canning Town – head south along Silvertown way, and turn left to the West Entrance of ExCeL. ExCeL is also connected directly to the Central, Northern, Circle, District and Waterloo & City lines at Bank and the Circle and District lines at Tower Hill via the DLR.
