FAQs - General Questions
What is the British Triathlon Federation (BTF) day membership for?
The BTF day licence is a licence for racing and covers your public liability insurance for the day. The cost of the day license is contained in the entry fee. For further information on race licenses contact the BTF www.britishtriathlon.org
Why is there no reduction in cost for BTF annual members?
Everybody pays the same entry fee. If you are a full BTF member then you can claim your refund from the BTF, on race day, on presentation of your BTF license. If you wish to purchase an annual BTF membership go to www.britishtriathlon.org
How do I use a number belt?
A number belt means that you do not have to put safety pins through your new triathlon clothing! You simply attach your number to the race belt and then put the race belt around you. It can then be moved to show the number on your back for the bike and on the front for the run. To purchase a number belt CLICK HERE
What are the age restrictions for competing?
You must be 17 years old or over to compete in the general races. If you are 15 / 16 years there are Youth events available for you to compete in.
How can I book accommodation for the events?
For event specific accommodation information go to the Accommodation page.
Can I listen to a personal music player whilst racing?
No! You are unable to hear other competitors or the marshals when you are wearing one and are therefore a danger to yourself and others. If caught wearing one whilst racing you will be disqualified.
Is water available during the races?
There will be numerous water stations on each race course. These will located at swim out and on the run course. There will be no water stations on the bike course - it is your responsibility to ensure that you have enough fluid to keep yourself hydrated on the bike leg.
How do I compete with friends / family?
